Spicy Green Beans

adapted from this recipe.


  • • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • juice of 1/2 lime
  • 3 dried chili peppers
  • 1 tbs red curry paste
  • 1/2 small onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-3 handfuls of green beans, trimmed and washed
  • 2/3 cup  veggie protein crumble (fake meat)*

*Can substitute with ground pork.

In a separate small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar and salt.

Heat frying pan on high. Add oil and heat until shimmering. Add onions. Saute until translucent. Add protein, breaking it up with spatula. Add salt/sugar/soy sauce mixture. Keep stirring until mostly cooked through. remove from pan into separate bowl. Add chili peppers and garlic to pan,  stir fry for a few seconds until fragrant. Add green beans and saute until just soft (option: add a dash of chicken stock and cover pan to steam green beans if you dont want to use more oil. Return protein to pan and add curry paste. Stir and combine. Squeeze lime, toss, plate.
